Girlfriend taller than me, I'm short?? it sucks?

I'm what you'd consider "butch" and its important to me to feel as tall or a little taller than my fem gf. However, I am 4'9'' and she's a little over 5'2. I'm very self concious about my height and wear five inch elevation shoes to feel better about myself. The shoes kinda hurt, are bulky, and are getting too hot for summer. I want to be able to just be myself, but I know if I expose my true height, I'll be humiliated. Any advice on how to deal with this? How short would I look next to her in normal shoes....? ridiculous? (we are both girls obviously)
