How to get a girl to respond on facebook?

This girl said wed talk over the summer but she won't respond to my messages. Every now and then ill text her saying hey or something but she won't respond. I sometimes ask her why she's not responding and she still won't. Shell poke me and comment on my status but not msg. Why? What can I say to get her to respond?
