Whats is this card game?

all i know is that the first hand a number of cards are passed between players before hand is played out, and in each further hand additional cards must be passed all til you pass your entire hand. Thats all i know for sure.. but i do believe a trump suit is called before the cards are passed, i really dont remember the object of it as far as if you want to win most tricks, certain tricks or what have you. I've played euchre, whist, hearts, spades and the like so i know its none of them, please please help i'm getting desparate to figure this out!!
