Why would you be scared in a war?

Well I was a boy in WW2 when the Germans were bombing London in the blitz ,, Nightly in air raid shelters ,, with lots of noise ,, anti aircraft guns blazing away ,, drone of bombers ,, sound of bombs falling ,, the explosions . hearing debris and glass falling all around, You knew the bomb had missed you ,, Next morning the sight of houses . windows broken ,, roofs blown off ,, some completely destroyed and clothes, belongings , furniture littered the street .. but I will say as a boy I was not really frightened , Was more of an adventure ,, The adults were far more scared I think
